The Fall Out Pinot Noir is everything we want from a Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir - fresh,crisp, and budget-friendly. Since we’re one street away from calling ourselves a Sta Rita HillsPinot Noir we get the upside of the great terroir while keeping our cost manageable. Wefermented and aged each vineyard separately, which allows us to preserve the dark and firmcharacter of Clone 115 from the Sta Rita Hills and the vibrant and floral charm of Clone 828 from 'across the street'. We aged the wine in 15% new French oak for 12 months. As always,Slouch Hat takes a non-interventionist approach to winemaking to allow the fruit to shine. Thisgentle approach and minor new oak exposure creates a wonderfully structured wine with stealthy tannins to compliment the fresh red cherry, orange peel, and slightly spicy notes.
